Standard Programs
Some courses have Standard Programs established. This is a set
of Units of Study that are compulsory or common for the majority
of students in a particular course. Selecting a Standard Program
saves you having to enter each unit individually. You can then make
adjustments to each unit after the set of units loads to your screen.
How to use the Standard Program function
- Click on the
button.
- If your course does not have any Standard Programs available,
you will receive a message advising this. By clicking on the
button you may return to the previous screen.
- If your course does have Standard Programs available, the programs
will be listed.
- Click on the name of the Standard Program you wish to pre-enrol
in.
- The Units of Study within the Standard Program you have chosen
will be displayed.
- If these Units of Study do not comprise the Standard Program
you were intending to choose, you can return to the list of Standard
Programs available for your course by clicking the
button.
- If the displayed Units of Study comprise the Standard Program
you wish to pre-enrol in, click the
button.
- Once you have clicked the Confirm Program button (shown above)
a prompt will appear, reminding you that the UoS will not be saved
until the Save Changes button is clicked on the following page.
- The Units of Study from the Standard Program will populate
Units of Study fields on the pre-enrolment screen.
- If you want to fine-tune any of the Units by adding or deleting,
do this now.
- Click on the
button to save the Units of Study as your pre-enrolment selection.
- If you decide that you do not wish to pre-enrol in those Units
of Study, click on the
button and all the details added since you last saved will be
removed.
Common Error Messages you may encounter:
- Prerequisite checking failed: an error message citing
"UoS X failed prereq checking" means you do not have
the mandatory prerequisites or corequisites for the Unit/s of
Study in the Standard Program you wish to pre-enrol in. If you
believe that you do have the necessary pre- or corequisites (or
you have advanced standing) then you will need to see your Faculty.
- "This UoS is fully enrolled. Please choose another UoS
preference": This message means that the enrolment limit
for this unit of study has been exceeded. Either choose another
Unit or contact your Faculty to see if they have a waiting list.
- Duplicate Units of Study: an error message citing "Unit
of Study X semester Y is a duplicate and cannot be added"
means that you have already selected the Unit of Study you are
attempting to add.
- If a Unit of Study requires departmental or special permission
or is subject to quota limits, you will not be able to add it
using Web Pre-Enrolment variation. You will need to see your Faculty.
